Geneva Bible Notes: Leviticus 26

Leviticus 26:1 (!) Idolatrie forbidden.

Leviticus 26:1 (/) Or, stone hauing anie imagerie.

Leviticus 26:3 (!) A blessing to them that kepe the commandements.

Leviticus 26:4 (a) By promesing abundance of earthly things he stirreth the mindes to consider the riche treasures of the spiritual blessings.

Leviticus 26:6 (/) Ebr. I wil cause the euil beast to cease.

Leviticus 26:6 (b) Ye shal haue no warre.

Leviticus 26:9 (c) Perfourme that which I haue promised.

Leviticus 26:9 (/) Ebr. I wil turne vnto you.

Leviticus 26:11 (d) I wil be daily present with you.

Leviticus 26:13 (e) I haue set you at ful libertie, where as before ye were as beasts tied in bandes.

Leviticus 26:14 (!) The cursse to those that breake them.

Leviticus 26:15 (f) Which I made with you in chosing you to be my people.

Leviticus 26:16 (/) Or, an hasty plague.

Leviticus 26:17 (g) Read {Chap. 17,10}.

Leviticus 26:18 (h) That is, more extremely.

Leviticus 26:19 (i) Ye shal haue drought & barennes, {Age 1,10}

Leviticus 26:20 (/) Or, labour.

Leviticus 26:21 (k) Or, as some read, by fortune, imputing my plagues to chance and fortune.

Leviticus 26:22 (l) Of your children, {2 King 17,25}.

Leviticus 26:22 (m) Because none dare passe thereby for feare of beastes.

Leviticus 26:26 (o) One ouen shalbe sufficient for ten families.

Leviticus 26:26 (n) That is, the strength, wherby the life is susteined, {Ezek. 4,16, & 5,16}.

Leviticus 26:30 (/) Or, carions.

Leviticus 26:31 (p) I wil not accept your sacrifices.

Leviticus 26:33 (q) Signifing that none enemie can come without Gods sending.

Leviticus 26:35 (r) Which I commanded you to kepe.

Leviticus 26:36 (/) Or, cowardnes.

Leviticus 26:36 (s) As if their enemies did chase them.

Leviticus 26:39 (t) Forasmuche as they are culpable of their fathers fautes, they shalbe punished aswel as their fathers.

Leviticus 26:41 (/) Or, praye for their sinne.

Leviticus 26:42 (!) God promiseth to remembre his couenant.

Leviticus 26:43 (u) While they are captiues and without repentance.

Leviticus 26:45 (x) Made to their forefathers.

Leviticus 26:46 (y) Fifty daies after they came out of Egypt.
