Geneva Bible Notes: Numbers 13

Numbers 13:1 (a) That is, in Rithma, which was in Paran, {Chap. 33,18}.

Numbers 13:3 (b) After the people had required it of Moses, as it is {Deu. 1,22}, then the Lord spake to Moses so to do.

Numbers 13:4 (!) Certeine men are sent to searche the land of Canaan.

Numbers 13:9 (/) Or, Joshua.

Numbers 13:17 (c) Which in nomber were twelue, according to the twelue tribes.

Numbers 13:18 (/) Or, high countrey.

Numbers 13:20 (d) Plentiful or baren.

Numbers 13:22 (e) Which was in the wildernes of Paran.

Numbers 13:23 (f) Which were a kinde of gyantes.

Numbers 13:23 (g) Declaring the antiquitie thereof: also Abraham, Sarah, Izhak and Jaakob were buryed there.

Numbers 13:24 (!) They bring the frute of the land.

Numbers 13:25 (/) Or, the valley of Eshcol, that is, of grapes.

Numbers 13:27 (h) Called also, Kadesh-Barnea.

Numbers 13:28 (i) That is, Moses.

Numbers 13:29 (k) Ahaiman, Sheshai and Talmai, whome Caleb slewe afterward.

Numbers 13:31 (/) Or, murmuring against Moses.

Numbers 13:31 (!) Caleb comforteth the people against the discouraging of the other spies.

Numbers 13:33 (l) The gyantes were so cruel that they spoiled & killed one another, and those that came to them.
