Geneva Bible Notes: Numbers 14

Numbers 14:1 (a) Such as were affraied at the reporte of the ten spies.

Numbers 14:2 (!) The people murmure against Moses.

Numbers 14:3 (b) To our enemies the Canaanites.

Numbers 14:5 (c) Lamenting the people & praying for them.

Numbers 14:6 (d) For sorrowe heareing their blasphemie.

Numbers 14:9 (e) We shal easely ouercome them.

Numbers 14:10 (!) They wolde haue stoned Caleb and Joshua.

Numbers 14:10 (f) This is the condition of them that wolde persuade in Gods cause, to be persecuted of the multitude.

Numbers 14:13 (!) Moses pacifieth God by his praier.

Numbers 14:15 (g) So that none shal escape.

Numbers 14:20 (h) In that he destroied not them vtterly, but left their posteritie and certeine to entre.

Numbers 14:22 (i) That is, sondrie times and often.

Numbers 14:24 (k) A meke and obedient spirit and not rebellious.

Numbers 14:25 (l) And lie in wayte for you.

Numbers 14:25 (m) For I wil not defend you.

Numbers 14:33 (o) Your infidelitie and disobedience against God.

Numbers 14:33 (n) The worde signifieth, to be shepherdes, or to wander like shepherds to and fro.

Numbers 14:34 (p) Whether my promes be true or no.

Numbers 14:40 (q) They confesse they sinned by rebelling against God, but consider not they offended by going vp without Gods commandement.

Numbers 14:44 (r) They colde not be staied by anie meanes.

Numbers 14:45 (!) The people that wolde entre into the land contrarie to Gods wil, are slaine.
