Joshua 23:1 ^! Joshua exhorteth the people, that they joyne themselues not to the Gentiles.

Joshua 23:1 ^/ Ebr. ???

Joshua 23:3 ^a Your eyes bearing witnes.

Joshua 23:4 ^/ Ebr. at the sunne set.

Joshua 23:4 ^/ Or, ouerthrown these nacions.

Joshua 23:5 ^b Which yet remaine and are not ouercome, as {Chap 13,2}.

Joshua 23:7 ^! That they name not their idoles.

Joshua 23:7 ^d Let not the Judges admit an othe, which anie shal swear by their idoles.

Joshua 23:7 ^c And not yet subdued.

Joshua 23:11 ^/ Ebr. soules.

Joshua 23:12 ^/ Or, be of their affinitie.

Joshua 23:12 ^/ Or haue conuersacion with them.

Joshua 23:13 ^e Meaning they shalbe a continual grief vnto you, and so the cause of your destruction.

Joshua 23:14 ^! The promes, if they feare God.

Joshua 23:14 ^f I dye according to the course of nature.

Joshua 23:15 ^/ Or, promises.

Joshua 23:15 ^/ Or, threatenings.

Joshua 23:15 ^! And threatenings if they forsake him.

Joshua 23:16 ^h He sheweth that no euil can come vnto man, execept he offend God by disobedience.
