Judges 19:1 (!) A Leuites wife being an harlot, forsoke her housband, and he toke her againe.

Judges 19:2 (/) Ebr. besides him: to wit, with others.

Judges 19:3 (/) Or, at his meting.

Judges 19:3 (/) Ebr. to her heart.

Judges 19:5 (/) Or, strengthen.

Judges 19:5 (/) Ebr. rose vp.

Judges 19:6 (a) That is, his concubines father.

Judges 19:7 (/) Or, compelled him.

Judges 19:8 (b) Meaning, that he shulde refresh him selfe with meate, as {vers. 5}.

Judges 19:9 (/) Ebr, is weake

Judges 19:9 (/) Or, the day lodgeth.

Judges 19:9 (c) To wit, to the towne or citie where he dwelt.

Judges 19:11 (/) Or, went downe.

Judges 19:12 (d) Thogh in these daies there were most horrible corruptions, yet very necessitie colde not compel them to haue to do with them that professed not the true God.

Judges 19:15 (/) Or, gathered them.

Judges 19:16 (e) That is, of the tribe of Benjamin.

Judges 19:17 (/) Or, a man walking.

Judges 19:18 (f) To Shiloh Mizpeh where the Arke was.

Judges 19:20 (/) Or, be of good comfort.

Judges 19:21 (/) Ebr, men of Belial: that is giuen to all wickednes.

Judges 19:22 (g) To the intent they might breake it.

Judges 19:24 (h) That is, abuse them.

Judges 19:25 (!) At Gibeah she was moste vilenously abused to the death.

Judges 19:26 (i) She fell downe dead, as {vers. 27}.

Judges 19:27 (/) Or, housband.

Judges 19:27 (/) Or, fallen.

Judges 19:28 (k) Meaning, home vnto mount Ephraim.

Judges 19:29 (!) The Leuite cutteth her in pieces and sendeth her to the twelue tribes.

Judges 19:30 (l) For this was like the sin of Sodom, for the which God rained down sire & brimstone from heauen.
